You can designate an individual as a Nominee for each DEMAT Account. In the event of death of the holder of a DEMAT Account, all rights of transfer or amount payable in respect of securities held in the DEMAT Account and consequently all rights and liabilities in respect of beneficiary ownership of the securities held in the DEMAT Account shall vest in the nominee. In short, a nominee is entitled to receive the holdings in case of death of the holder(s) of the DEMAT Account. Transfer of securities in favour of a Nominee will be a valid discharge by IDBI Capital against the legal heir.

Only one nominee can be designated for a Demat Account. A nominee can be designated for accounts held in single names, as well as joint names.
Only individuals can make nominations. Demat Accounts held in the name of non-individuals such as society, trust, body corporate, partnership firm, karta of Hindu Undivided Family cannot nominate.
A nominee can only be an individual. A Nominee cannot be a trust, society, body corporate, partnership firm, karta of Hindu Undivided Family, or a Power of Attorney holder.
A minor can be nominated. In that event, the name and address of the Guardian of the minor nominee is required to be given.
A non-resident Indian can be a Nominee, subject to the exchange controls in force, from time to time.
1. Download Change of Nomination Form
Change of Nomination Form can be downloaded in PDF or Word format. This form should be printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader or Microsoft Word. It should then be filled completely, signed and sent to IDBI Capital along with a proof of address. Click Download Nomination Form to open a new window which will guide you through the process.
2. Send the completed form
After the Nomination Form is completed in all respects, it needs to be signed by all holders of the DEMAT Account. The form should be submitted to nearest branch of IDBI Capital.
3. Process after submission of documents
On receipt of all the documents, IDBI Capital will verify the form submitted. If the form is in order, IDBI Capital will generate Nomination request in the NSDL system.
A confirmation letter will be sent to you by post / Courier
